My Summer Book Haul

In August, I finally treated myself to a couple of new books...

12 to be exact... (Plus 3 ARCs I received from authors and publishers.) Some of the books I bought myself I found at a marketplace in Spain. The others I order from my FAVE online bookstore, Book Depository (I love Book Depository with almost all my heart).

The books I have read are marked with a star *

From Spain

11.22.63 by Stephen King
I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore *
Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty *
Solitaire by Alice Oseman *
The Honeymoon by Tina Seskis

Book Depository

Saga Volume 1 by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples *
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline *
One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
Caraval by Stephanie Garber

The three ARCs I received:
No Saints in Kansas by Amy Brashear (a physical copy, which I'm currently reading)
Beastly Lights by Theresa Jane (an e-copy)
The Secrets of Islayne by Kari Lynn West (an e-copy)

Have you read any of these books? Did you like them? Which one should I pick up next?

Book Recommendations: Underhyped Books

Book recommendation time! ツ

This time I'll be recommending underhyped books I really like and enjoyed while reading them. Note: None of the books I'll mention did I read recently, so I hope my summaries are at least a little on point. I gave these books either a five or a four-star rating. I think all of them have less than 4 stars on Goodreads, but I'm not too sure (edit: 1 of 6 have over 4 stars). Five books are young adult, the sixth is middle grade. Hope you'll like it!

5 Star Predictions #1

In this post, I will predict my future favorite books... based on my expectations.

I will take a look at the books on my TBR-list and try to find five un-read books that I believe will get 5 star ratings from me. I found the idea for this post on YouTube, link here.

11.22.63 by Stephen King Goodreads

The TV-show was truly amazing and I know that the book will be too. My sister, who isn't much of a reader, is actually reading this at the moment and she tells me that it's marvellous. I cannot wait to read it soon (although it is somewhat intimidating with its 700+ pages).

The Becoming of Noah Shaw by Michelle Hodkin Goodreads

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer is one of my all time faves. I loved the two following books in the trilogy as well (I know a lot of people didn't). I'm fairly sure that The Becoming of Noah Shaw will turn out to be just as good as its companion novels. I love Noah more than I love Mara so...

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo Goodreads

I recently got my hands on this in physical form, alongside Crooked Kingdom (book two), and I believe that both books will be 5 stars if I interpret the reviews right. I think this book will be so good (or perhaps I hope so more than anything because I've been incredibly affected by the hype).

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas • Goodreads

I've heard great things about THUG and I really think it will live up to the hype. The reason why I predict this to be a 5 star book is because of its important message and the representativity/diversity. To be honest, I don't read many diverse books when I come to think about it. I have to better myself. I'll try to read it this month or the next.

A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin • Goodreads

When I finally decide to finish A Game of Thrones, I'm pretty sure I'll give it 5 stars. Maybe it's cheating when I've already read half the book? Let's say it's not. I'm really certain this book will be a 5 star book. Side note: I have already added it to my favorites shelf on Goodreads (I think one year or so ago). I could not not do it, I just know it will be great.

What are five of your 5 star predictions? Have you read any of my five choices?
